Blog EntryTalking about irresponsible owners...Nov 15, '07 10:17 AM
for everyone

Received an sms from Fizah last month...she wants her 2 "Persians" to be sterilised. I said she would have to wait until next month and asked her how the mother cat and the kittens were. No reply!

Then a few days ago I went up with the intention of getting the kittens sterilised. They were no longer around...She told me they were given to her cousin.

Cinderella looked well...so hopefully they will not dump her...or give to the cousin.

The two Persians (females) will be done on Monday. Will just  lend her the carriers and she will then bring them on her own.

I am not racist at all but what's with these people all idolising Persians, especially the Malays? I personally have encountered many nice Malays asking me whether I have Persians to give away or if my cats are Persians. Is it a status issue or money-making venture?

Some months ago, Carol and I persuaded a Malay family to let us bring his two cats (later found to be pregnant during sterilsation, yes BOTH) sterilised and then refused to reimburse the vet fees. The man of the house said he loved Siamese cats and to let him know if we ever have one!

This person is very unreliable.. I left the vouchers with the vet in case she doesn't turn up... The funny thing is that the 2 cats look like normal domestic short-hair, one white and the other grey tabby...someone must have told her that they are Persians.

Oh yes, i've had people tell me their cats are Persians or Siamese or some exotic breed but they just look like the usual DSH to me. Is it so important to say one owns "expensive" cats?
